This was a great post. The tables are flipped in our household since I’m the triathlete but I really enjoyed this perspective. There were a few things that I admit I do. Thanks for keeping it real and I’m sure my hubby would like this post as well.

Hi Amanda. Thanks so much for your comment. We’re actually doing the female triathlete’s perspective next week, so if you have anything to add, please let us know. Did you relate to anything from the male triathlete’s perspective??? I hope your hubby reads it…..

OMG I can so relate. Thanks for this. I really understand about the flexibility with the kids activities. Finding the compromise is hard and takes work!

Glad it’s not just us and that we’re all in this together.

This is such an awesome post and definately sums up a lot from both sides. The toughest thing for me is that it’s all in or nothing for triathletes, so there is no social balance. It can be such a cacoon, which I try and avoid, I often forget or ignore how tired my bf is and have made social plans that we either need to cancel or end up going alone. Compromise is definately not an easy one.

We love the word awesome. Thanks so much. I really didn’t know what I was signing up for when my husband started in this sport. I just thought it would be great to get him back in shape. I didn’t realize it truly is a lifestyle change on so many levels. As a night owl, I certainly never thought I’d be going to bed at 9:30, but when he gets up at 4:30, usually so do I, so to get enough sleep….Compromise is hard in all aspects of life, so you just do your best and communicate what’s working and what’s not.
