    As a diving instructor, I spend some time on a boat as well. It is not easy to combine it with Ironman training sometimes. On the top of the things you have discussed I have tried few more:
    – Spot running in the water with a wetsuit – it is more like a jogging, I could not raise my HR enough
    – I purchased very small bike trainer (just pedals and no seat) intended for elder people sitting on a chair. Even I tried to set the resistance high, I could not leave my Z1 at all.
